ABOUT CLEAN SHELTER SCHWEIZ
Clean Shelter Schweiz is a non-profit association under Swiss law. It functions as the Swiss chapter of the Germany-based non-profit organization Clean Shelter gUG, which was founded in response to the urgent sanitation and shelter needs and the growing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. As the Swiss chapter of Clean Shelter gUG, Clean Shelter Schweiz aims to enhance the public visibility of Clean Shelter’s work in crisis relief, sanitation, and displacement, and to support fundraising and networking by building connections with institutions and decision-makers. Clean Shelter Schweiz does not directly run field projects but serves as a driver of awareness, fundraising, partnerships, and advocacy.
ABOUT CLEAN SHELTER
Clean Shelter gUG is a non-profit organization, registered and based in Germany (tax no. 27/611/83976).
It was founded in January 2024 by Seba Abu-Daqa, a Palestinian living in Munich, and Tom Kellner, an Israeli living in Berlin, as a response to the urgent sanitation needs and growing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

We are a small, fast, and flexible grassroots organization. Our team reaches displaced communities in Gaza in person to offer real crisis relief to mitigate the devastating effects of displacement and war. Thanks to our team of volunteers on the ground, led by Hala Assi, we’ve constructed and financed more than a thousand toilets, showers, tents, and community spaces and structures, as well as water infrastructure networks, benefiting approximately 130,000 families and individuals.

Since May 2024, Clean Shelter gUG has been delivering clean drinking water to approximately 60,000 families daily; in July 2024, Clean Shelter gUG acquired its first solar-powered desalination unit, which provided 2-3 cubic liters of clean drinking water per day. In August 2025, Clean Shelter acquired two additional desalination systems that provide clean drinking water to 14 surrounding IDP camps in Al-Mawasi.
